Summer is the perfect time to start thinking about making some enhancements to your outdoor space. If new siding is something that is on your list, this article is for you! Here at A. David Construction, we absolutely LOVE to speak with our customers to get a feel for their vision and design ideas so we can bring them to life. The best part of planning a siding project is choosing the color scheme and type of siding. To be more specific, color plays a huge role in our everyday environment and according to the basic rules of Feng Shui, our brains react differently to colors in different ways. For example, neutral tones tend to bring a calming energy and balance. Specifically, green tones when added to your outdoor space can bring a feeling of growth and sense of overall health. Neutral and earthy tones are currently what is trending in 2023. With that being said, the color of your home is a lot more important than we may realize. When it comes to your home’s exterior, there are endless possibilities for color and design.

Accentuate Your Home’s Character

Your house is not just a house, it’s your home. It’s your comfort zone. Each home has its own character and unique features both on the interior as well as the exterior. For example, some homes have beautiful bay windows or fun bump-out walls around the house. Others have partial brick with siding. Perhaps your home has a wrap-around porch with round columns where you can select a beautiful wood grain siding!  These areas that appear different on the house can have a variety of colors or types of siding to create something like an accent wall to break up the color and accentuate the area.
There are several excellent quality products you can choose from to achieve your perfect look. You may want to start with the James Hardie Statement Collection, which features a choice of 14 colors. If you’re looking for more color selection, The James Hardie Dream Collection offers over 700 custom colors you can order for siding and trim. On the other hand, if you are a fan of HGTV, specifically the show Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna Gaines partnered with James Hardie to create the Magnolia Collection which is full of natural shades that, in our opinion, look very classy!

There are many other ways to spice up your exterior. If you would like to go for a more modern look, Vesta steel siding may be the perfect fit. Vesta is a Class A fire-rated product that is offered in solid colors and in wood grain textures. You can also add an elegant touch to your chimney by adding a nice stone veneer.  Vertical board and batten mixed with staggered or straight shingles are always a popular option as well.

Possibilities in Exterior Design

A. David Construction is diving into the world of exterior design especially when it comes to mixing and matching different colors and different types of siding. We believe that every house is unique and holds its very own character. This is important to consider when you are thinking about how you want to go about revamping the look of your home. It is all about accentuating your home to the fullest! A good example of mixed siding types would be using metal panels between James Hardie board and batten. We would love to sit down with you and discuss ideas for your next project! The possibilities are endless.
